Investment Bank applications – it’s a numbers game!

Many of you apply to investment banks. I always encourage my clients to apply to hundreds of companies, because at this point it really is a numbers game. I hear you cry, “I can’t apply to 100 companies!!!” Well, you can – and you may have to if you are not a superstar candidate from Oxford who speaks 3 languages.

It gets easy once you have done your first 15 applications. You will get it down to an average of 90 minutes per application once you do lots. Spending 150 hours on applications really is an acceptable use of your time to ensure you get enough interviews. Anyone who tells you to carefully select the best bank that fits you is taking nonsense.

See below for a list of the top hundred investment banks – now, get moving on these applications!
